As a parent to three JUNIOR children (ages three, six, and nine) I am in the lucky position to know every word to every theme song on Disney Junior for almost a decade. Going into the new Disney Junior dance party live at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, I felt like I was going to be a seasoned veteran back to visit old friends, but “Oh Boy” was I wrong!

There are so many new friends, faces, and characters to get to know in the new show! I grabbed a couple of tips that might help you navigate the new show and make the most of your dance party experience:
Five tips to help you make the most out of your Disney Junior Dance Party Experience
1. Never underestimate the power of Fastpass+!
There are a lot of great things to consider getting a Fastpass+ for at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but when booking your experiences and considering if you should use one of them on the Disney Junior Dance Party, keep in mind that there will probably be space in the show for everyone- but FP+ gets first preference on seating. Unlike with the old version of the show sitting up close is no longer tough for little kids to see the stage at. For me, the benefit of getting there early is not just in if you want to sit up front, but great for my kids who like to sit in the back. My youngest doesn’t like being too close to the characters and my older two love to dance and need space to do it. Getting there early gives us options to find a spot to really enjoy the show at.
2. Get interactive!
No matter which area you’re seated, there will be bubbles (confetti leaves and “snow” too!) so be ready to jump up out of your seat and reach for the sky (or let your little one do it)!
3. Who will be there?
Prepare your kids in advance for the characters that they will see. Specifically if they have a sensitivity to “spooky“ characters like on the show Vampirina. Appearing in real life are the characters: Mickey Mouse, Timon (from The Lion Guard), Doc McStuffins, and Vampirina.
4. Dance Party sensory issues
This is a dance party and there will be a pretty epic light show happening. If your children have a sensitivity to strobe like lights, keep that in mind and maybe sit closer to the back to avoid it becoming overwhelming stimulation.
5. Have fun!
This is the Disney Junior Dance Party and acting silly while having fun is required. Get up and dance and make wonderful memories with your family! You are rocking this parenting thing and your kids will remember this for a lifetime!

Character interactions outside of the theater:
As I said above there are a few characters at the show in real life. You can meet them before or after the show in front of the theater as well!
Outside of the theater you can wait in a relatively short line to meet Vampirina, Doc McStuffins, Sofia the First, and Pluto!
A couple of rules to keep in mind:
- Stay within the “party zone”. There is a distinct pattern on the carpet marking the area to sit in.
- Photos and videos are encouraged: no flashes, external lights, selfie sticks (prohibited park wide, or standing/blocking allowed).
- If you need to leave early for any reason, please see Disney Junior dance party team member for help.
